Strategic Goal:

To transport international and domestic audiences into the heart of Japan’s premium Wagyu production during the “Wagyu Olympics.”

1. The Challenge: Capturing Life in High-Contrast Environments

International brands and advertising agencies require high-fidelity experiential media to engage global audiences during major national events. The primary challenge of this interactive content production project was documenting the daily life of a premium Wagyu farm in rural Kagoshima under extreme environmental constraints. The technical hurdles were significant:

  • The Lighting:

Cattle sheds are notoriously difficult to capture, featuring deep ambient shadows contrasted against intense, direct sunlight (high dynamic range).

  • The Subjects:

Working with live animals meant constant movement, which typically causes severe “ghosting,” blur, or stitching artifacts in standard 3D scans.

  • The Mission:

The final asset needed to move beyond a passive spatial walkthrough; it had to function as an emotional documentary showcasing the bond between the farmers and their award-winning cattle.

2. The Meidansha Solution: High-Fidelity Data Extraction

We elevated the standard spatial imaging framework by integrating production-grade digital assets and bespoke interface design:

Interactive Content Production Advanced Optical Capture:

To overcome the extreme lighting challenges, we bypassed standard 3D cameras for the primary visuals. We utilized the Sony α7R IV paired with a specialized lens, capturing 9-frame bracketed exposures to engineer flawless HDR panoramas. This meticulous process ensured that even the darkest-coated Wagyu cattle were visible in rich, textured detail against the high-contrast Kagoshima sun.

Interactive Content Production Multi-Media Layers:

We built a custom interactive entryway utilizing advanced web design tools. Upon entering the digital cowshed, users are instantly enveloped by the ambient soundscapes of the Kirishima countryside. High-intent interactive “tags” embedded within the 3D space launch targeted high-definition videos, seamlessly showing farmers bottle-feeding calves or veterinarians conducting check-ups without breaking the user’s immersion.

Spatial Audio & 360° Video Integration:

To achieve absolute spatial presence, we integrated high-fidelity environmental audio and hidden 360° video “Easter eggs.” Features such as a point-of-view video of calves curiously approaching the lens became a major engagement hook for the end-users.

Logistical Agility & Safety:

Despite the remote mountainside location and strict agricultural bio-security protocols (to prevent livestock disease), Meidansha deployed a full technical production suite from our Osaka hub, managing all equipment sterilization and safety workflows with zero supervision required from the client.

3. Why Meidansha?

When a high-profile marketing campaign or national exhibition demands more than just a standard spatial capture, our interactive content production framework takes over to deliver measurable brand value.

Global Recognition:

The creative execution of this project earned international acclaim, standing out as one of a select few globally to be nominated for the prestigious Digital Twin Awards 2022. This puts Meidansha on the map as a top-tier global producer.

Tier-1 Agency Collaboration:

Our frictionless workflow alongside Dentsu Live demonstrated our capability to act as a reliable, white-label technical partner for the world’s largest advertising and public relations firms.

English-First Project Management:

We eliminate cross-border communication friction. From the initial creative brief to the final server deployment, all asset management and reporting are conducted entirely in English, allowing global headquarters to review and approve media assets efficiently.
